Economic Forum – 3seas regions on the way of digital development

The Economic Forum will be held during the 3Seas Local Government Congress.

The forum is planned to include: thematic seminars on digitization, international cooperation, hydrogen economy, new technologies and innovations.

Today we will present the first of them: 3seas regions on the way of digital development.

3seas regions on the way of digital development.

The digital economy has become a key growth driver for ten countries in Central and Eastern Europe. It contributes to the spectacular economic transformation that the region has produced in the last decades, increasingly acknowledged globally (e.g. in international media), which in turn fuels a new type of European leadership as our governments play an increasingly important role in deciding the future of the EU. In the last five years alone, the digital economy of our countries has grown by a total of EUR 42 bln. According to McKinsey’s analysis, by 2030 this increase in our region of Europe may reach as much as EUR 206 bln! However, experts admit that for these forecasts to become realistic, immediate reforms and thorough changes in what specifically drives the digital economy are necessary. During the debate, we will talk about how to effectively use this huge historical opportunity, as well as what new challenges we face and how we should respond to them. Can the Three Seas region become the second “Silicon Valley” in just a few years? How can the recommendations voiced by the business community (such as the 10 key steps for governments to take to reinforce the digital pillar, published last October) implemented?

The content partner of the panel is the Digital Poland Association and CEE Digital Coalition.
