Three Seas Initiative is the most important transatlantic project implemented in Europe

“The unprecedented aggression of Russia against Ukraine confirmed the legitimacy of the Three Seas concept” – writes Jan Sechter, the Czech government coordinator of the Three Seas project, former ambassador in Warsaw and Vienna.
Supported by President Trump, and at present by Biden’s administration – The Three Seas Initiative is the most important transatlantic project being implemented in Europe since integration of Central and Eastern Europe with the NATO structures – we read. In the opinion of Jan Sechter, the Three Seas Initiative is a project that can strengthen the synergy of a successful transformation of the region – it is due to the fact that the aggregated economic and strategic potential of the Three Seas Initiative increases its attractiveness for investors.
Sechter refers to the significance of the Three Seas Investment Fund for changing the way of thinking about big investments in Central and Eastern Europe and points out to the American approach to multi-source financing of infrastructural projects. Sechter also emphasises that for the interests of the Three Seas Initiative and the Euro-Atlantic strategic autonomy, there is a need to review the TEN-T transport and energy networks and infrastructure and integrating it with the Balkan countries and Ukraine aspiring to EU membership. Sechter also mentions the strategic dimension of cooperation between the Three Seas states and structural necessity of such cooperation.
