Czech Republic: The Three Seas Initiative is the biggest Euro-Atlantic project since our joining the NATO



The Tree Seas project is extremely important for the Czechs. Previous governments considered that it could be a tool dividing Europe and they concentrated mainly on Brussels. Now, the Prague politicians present other way of thinking . This issues was discussed by the plenipotentiary of the Czech’s government for the Three Seas Initiative during the interview with radio Wnet.fm



Our economy is strongly focused on the Three Seas concept. It is extremely important for us. We want the Check Republic to be economically connected with Central and South Europe – emphasises Jan Sechter.


The Czech politician underlined that economic cooperation with Ukraine is important for his country. He regrets that his country has not managed to strengthen economic ties with the east so far. It has been considered in our country for long that Europe should open more to eastern markets and the Balkans.

The Three Seas Initiative is a project OF cooperation in the field of economy, infrastructure and energy involving the 12 UE member states: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Since it was established upon the Initiative of Poland and Croatia, it has also been a Trans-Atlantic cooperation project.

Supported by President Trump, and now by Biden’s administration - it has been the most important Trans-Atlantic project implemented in Europe since the integration of Central and Eastern Europe with the NATO structures. On 18 November 2020 the US Congress unanimously adopted the resolution no 672 which supports Three Seas projects and the Initiative itself as a strategic concept. (info.wnet.fm)
