The Three Seas Region Economy in Figures



The Three Seas Region is developing very dynamically, as is evidenced by data contained in the report entitled ‘Building Closer Connections. The Three Seas Region as an Economic Area’ prepared by the Polish Economic Institute.

In the years 2004-2019, Polish economy was the fastest-growing economy in the Three Seas Region. Average development rate in those years was 5.3%.

In 2004, the percentage share of GDP generated by the 3SI countries in the European Union GDP was 15%. In 2018, the Three Seas Region generated 19% of UE’s GDP.

The volume of trade of the Three Seas Initiative countries in the years 2004-2018 increased by as much as 243%!

The total value of capitalization of stock exchanges from the 3SI Region in 2018 amounted to 347 billion EUR.

In the years 2014-2020, the value of transport, energy and digital projects financed by the EU and carried out in the Three Seas countries reached 80 billion EUR.

Five out of nine corridors of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) pass through the Three Seas Region.
